Monaco's most storied address, standing on Casino Square since 1864. Restored in recent years, it remains the benchmark for old-world glamour in the Principality, home to Alain Ducasse's three-Michelin-starred Le Louis XV and a direct underground link to the Thermes Marins spa.
Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo

The Hôtel de Paris's quieter sibling, best known for its Belle Époque glass-domed winter garden designed by Gustave Eiffel's studio. Slightly more discreet than its neighbor across the square, with the same access to the Thermes Marins spa and Casino de Monte-Carlo.
Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo
Monte Carlo
An interior by Jacques Garcia gives the Métropole a richer, more theatrical feel than most of Monaco's five-star options. The garden and pool area, designed by Karl Lagerfeld, and a dining program that has carried Joël Robuchon's name make this one for guests who want the city center without the Casino Square crowds.
Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort
Larvotto Peninsula, Monaco
The most resort-like of Monaco's five-star hotels, set on four hectares of gardens on the Larvotto Peninsula with a turquoise lagoon-style pool, direct sea access and a two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Blue Bay by Marcel Ravin. This is the property we booked most recently for a family stay — sea-view rooms and its private beach and lagoon pool made it the right fit for a multi-generational group who wanted resort space without leaving the Principality. Rooms and suites run up to the Diamond Suite, and benefits through our partner programs typically include early/late check-in and check-out where available, breakfast, and a resort credit.

Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, on the Monaco border
An Art Deco beach club turned hotel, technically just across the border in France but historically and operationally part of Monaco's hotel scene. Its iconic striped-umbrella pool overlooking the Mediterranean has made it a summer institution since the 1930s — the pick for guests who want a beach-club atmosphere over a city one.
Fairmont Monte Carlo

Built out over the water beside the Grand Prix circuit's famous hairpin turn, the Fairmont trades old-world formality for a more contemporary, resort-style stay, with a rooftop pool and direct access to Monaco's beaches. A strong option for guests who want modern rooms and Formula 1-adjacent views over heritage architecture.
Le Méridien Beach Plaza
Larvitto, Monaco
Monaco's large private beach hotel, with three seawater pools and direct beach access on the Larvotto. We requested a proposal here alongside the Monte-Carlo Bay during a recent family booking; indicative high-season rates opened around €630 a night for a Classic City View room and rose to the €800s for a Deluxe Frontal Sea View, making it a comparatively accessible entry point into Monaco's beachfront hotels without sacrificing the address.
A note from experience: Most of Monaco's five-star hotels sit within the Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) group — the Hôtel de Paris, Hermitage, Métropole and Monte-Carlo Bay among them — which means shared access to the Thermes Marins spa and the Casino de Monte-Carlo regardless of which one you book. When comparing options for a stay, we always weigh that shared access alongside each property's own pool, beach and room configuration, since for families and larger groups those details usually decide the booking, not the brand name.
